About the Best Counseling Program

Welcome to the Best Counseling Website! We are here to serve you. Alief ISD's Guidance and Counseling Program is a comprehensive, developmental guidance program based on the state's model. Professional counselors are available on all Alief ISD's campuses to provide services for all of our students in the following areas: guidance curriculum to help students develop their full educational potential; responsive services to intervene on behalf of any student whose immediate personal concerns or problems put the student’s continued educational, career, personal, or social development at risk; individual planning to help students plan, monitor, and manage their own educational, career, personal, and social development; system support to support the efforts of teachers, staff, parents, and other members of the system in promoting the educational, career, personal, and social development of students.

Meet Ms. Padgett

Ms. Padgett is a product of Alief she attended (Boone Elementary, Holub Middle School and Elsik High School). After graduating from Elsik High School in 1997, Ms.Padgett received a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from Texas Southern University. She then went on to earn her M.A. degree in Communications and Counseling at Prairie View A&M University.  After completing her certification, she began teaching and has been in education for over 18 years in various roles (Teacher, ESL/Testing coordinator and Reading Interventionist) over the years.  She has an 18 year old son who is also a product of Alief as well graduating from Elsik High School.  He is currently attending her alma mater Texas Southern University. She loves music, movies, reading books and traveling in her spare time.  She loves being able to support the students and teachers at Best.

Vision Statement:

My vision is to assist the students with developing tools and skills to empower all students to reach their maximum potential. My goal is to create a comprehensive program that addresses academic, personal/social, physical, and career goals.  We want to provide the students with an unique and stimulating environment where they can grow mentally, emotionally, and socially. The comprehensive counseling program will encourage personal inquiry and growth, social responsibility, and academic excellence.

BEST Bullying Prevention Program

Bullying Rules
Rule One: We will not bully other students.
Rule Two: We will try to help students who are bullied.
Rule Three: We will make it a point to include ALL students who are easily left out.
Rule Four: When we know someone is being bullied, we will tell a teacher or an adult at home.

Pledge Againist Bullying
